Inspired by Nature

I was born in Colorado, and moved to north Idaho when I was 2. With the exception of a short stint back in Colorado as teenager, and a couple years in Alaska, I have spent  my whole life in this little north Idaho mountain town. I love it here. I love the mountains, the trees, and the water. I could spend every day out on the lake, it’s where I’m the calmest.

I’ve always been creative, creative without an outlet. I love photograpy but that never quite clicked. The idea of working with metal and stone to create something beautiful had crossed my mind years ago, I just never had the courage to take a step forward. I honestly didn’t know enough about it to know if I could do it. Then life got busy. It wasn’t untill my sister started her journey with smithing that my interest really got peaked. I learned a little through her, but mostly she inspired me.

I love the idea of turning a creative expression into something a person can have and enjoy, and also pass along to someone else. Using materials and beautiful stones as a creative outlet,  that gets to go to someone else is amazing. It’s like spreading a little bit of me around. I’ve never been the type of person to need too many options. I wear my same favorite dresses, some I’ve had since teenager, over and over. I’ve had 2-3 accessories consistently my whole life. I believe in having things that last, so I don’t need many. That’s what I want to pass along. Something beautiful that speaks to you, but will last and move with you.
